Pete is the Label Manager of Rising Records. He started out in the music business as a rock and blues guitarist. He uses a guitar synth in live gigs to add to the sound capabilities of his favourite ‘Flying V’. He has a long experience as both a live and session musician. Pete was a founder member of Phoenix Rising as well as appearing in a number of other bands and audio sessions. There is more information about Pete’s background on his web site and on MySpace
Pete is now also a producer and recording engineer with experience of analogue and digital recording and an excellent working knowledge of MIDI applications and recording software of many kinds.
He manages projects of all types for a living (Including non-musical ones) as he has professional qualifications and certifications in Project Management. Pete says “The Project Management angle of my background makes it very simple to put together all forms of business cases, as well as producing band’s audio, video and logistical projects. I know how to organise the flow from conception to delivery and when we need to get formal about the means of delivery. I have worked on and led, very large teams of people on multimillion pound deliveries to achieve the goals of my clients. I also understand the commercial requirements of life and projects. This experience makes musical projects routine to me”.
Pete continues as a session musician although he is never happier than when he is playing music live. That has not been as often as he would like recently, but he is now working with the ChinWig project and should shortly be undertaking live gigs again.
Pete has recently released another self-penned album under the Pig’n’aif band name and examples from it can be found on the Media page of this site. The material from the album will be gigged as part of the ChinWig set. Get in touch if you are interested.
